The song Heterosexual Sex came to me out of frustration. As a gay male it sometimes becomes tiring hearing about gay issues and having homosexuality used as a political platform. As a gay male my life is fairly normal-meaning my partner and I go grocery shopping, cook, hang out on the couch, have sex, rent videos?blah blah blah. I simply wanted to turn the whole gay issue around in a simple way. The songs lyrics are not political but the message is. Hearing HETEROSEXUAL SEX HETEROSEXUAL SEX over and over for no apparent reason is ridiculous. The culture we live in is so strange and backwards to me. It is ridiculous that we must always look ,talk about and study something that is natural. I personally believe homosexuality to be something built into the genetic system like eye color or height. I recently read a theory that a book was based on that when populations increase the PERCENTAGE of homosexuals increases....I think this is true?Be afraid Heterosexuals?be VERY AFRAID!!!!!!......WE ARE TAKING OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It mimics early eighties videos like Devo and Barnes & Barnes. Within that context it is reffering to the 1950's attitudes and ideas about sexuality. The characters of the teachers came to me immediately and I thought were perfect vehicles to get the message across.
Bob Cunningham did such an amazing job with the video.Originally I had the idea about the professors.He had the idea of using footage from the 1950's as well.He really did a perfect job of using the footage and creating the right feeling for the piece.It's as if it is a lost or unknown video/song from an artist in 1981-2.
